Martha Stewart

I have always been the black sheep of the family. Never settling down and always doing things a little out of order. Well I think I have finally got it right now! I have the most adorable daughter in the world and the sweetest husband I could ever ask for. While I didn't think that being married would change much in my life I have been pleasantly surprised. I have a whole new level of love for Andy and I feel as though I finally know why I have been placed on this earth.

Now on to the explanation of why the title is Martha Stewart. You see I have always had this internal joke with myself that my family is made up of a bunch of Martha Stewarts. Lets start with my sister Shannon. She inherited this title right after her daughter Raven was born. She went from a leather pants wearing, tanning daily, blowing up a kitchen trying to cook kind of girl to a real Suzie homemaker over night. I never quite understood how this was possible. She was all about making new curtains for her house and making sure that her children had the cutest bedrooms in town.
Moving on...We have Christine who gave me one of the best gifts of the wedding. A wonderful book for our guests to sign that had our engagement pictures on each page and sayings that brought tears to my eyes.
Aunt Sanza and my mom. These two are really something. While I was busy panicking because we had waited too long to order the flower girl dresses my mom and aunt spent their time laughing at me knowing they could accomplish everything I needed in only a few hours. The dresses were more than I could have ever wanted. They were beautiful and exactly what I had envisioned. (A big thanks goes out to them!)
Michelle, although due to busy schedules I rarely get to spend time with her I admire the woman/mother she has grown into. While opening cards from the wedding I came across one that was from her family. A cute green and black card that had a flower on it. Before opening this card I knew exactly who it was from. The amount of creativity that comes from this girl is unreal.
And finally Deanna. For the past few months she has been watching my daughter. I can not tell you what a blessing she has been. Kaidence absolutely adores her and her whole family. Sometimes I think she would rather live with Donny than with us! Being a stay at home mom has to be one of the hardest jobs ever! Taking on other peoples children earns her even more respect from me. But its not all of that that pays her admission into the Martha Stewart group. No its the fact that after doing all of this she still has time to write a blog each day that no matter what is going on in life makes me appreciate everything I have. Normally its a smile with a little chuckle to myself however today it made me go in and wake up my daughter only to give her a hug and make sure she knows that I love her more than words can explain.

So in closing this is my attempt at being a part of the Martha club. My first blog!!! I am yet to be able to decorate a house like my sister, make a dress like my mom and aunt, scrapbook like Christine and Michelle, or be as witty and blog like Deanna but I am giving it my best shot! So make room girls I just paid my admission!

My mom was in tears the day of your wedding because she felt like she didn't do a good enough job on those dresses! Good to know you loved them!
