I got yelled at...

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
I'm doing this blog Tarantino style, starting at the end & working back... & then I'll tell the story of how it happened.

Becky: "YOU CAN REMEMBER THAT, BUT YOU CAN'T REMEMBER TO TAKE OUT THE *%#!&* TRASH!?!?!?!?!"

Andy: "Once... when it came out"

Becky: "Haha, How many times have you seen this movie?"

Andy: "Topo Gigio!"

So, we were watching "The Santa Clause" & there's a part in the movie where Santa's being interrogated by the cops & he's asked to say his name... I say, enthusiastically, "Topo Gigio" which happens to be the next thing that Tim Allen is about to say.

Maybe it was only funny to me.

I'm the most forgetful person in the world, it's embarrasing sometimes. I feel that I'm a lot like my dog. I've showed him how to sit hundreds of times but to this day, if I say "sit" he just poops on the floor.

Wait, do I have a lisp & no one has ever told me?

Sorry to put you all through that dorkyness but I only have 2 more days at this job & I've ran out of things to do...

I'm telling this story before Becky does!

I know that she'll make fun of me anyway, so here goes:

We were on our way to the Dane Cook show last night & we were complaining about the dogs. I mentioned that Sprocket ate two of my pairs of flip flops. She looked down & said "aren't you wearing flip flops?"... I indeed was.

I said back to her "at least he didn't eat both left feet or both right feet of the two pairs. He was courteous to eat a left & right so I could mix the left-overs together". She started laughing at me & was even about to call her mom to tell her how much of a dork I am.

Both pairs were black & pretty close in style, so why not! Who's staring at my feet anyway? Any foot starer has bigger problems than my mis-matched flip flops.

word.

Christmas Party!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone, Andy here! We've decided to have a Christmas Party! Here are the details:

December 29th at our home. Please call one of us if you need directions. We'll have food, snacks, etc so come hungry! We're also going to do a "White Elephant" gift exchange. Please bring a wrapped gift to join in the fun! The limit for the gifts is $15.

Since those of us with Kids don't get many "Adult Only" nights, please find a sitter because this is a grown up gathering!

I'll be honest with you, this party is kind of an excuse for me to order the UFC fight so be prepared for that to be on in the background later in the evening. Matt Hughes is in the main event & my favorite fighter, Chuck Liddell, is on the undercard! I'm so excited!!!
Please let us know if you can attend, we really hope that everyone can come over!

A Few Random Pics...more to come!

Socially Inept

Andy here- Just thought I'd share because I tend to do this a lot...

I usually take a break 30 minutes before my shift ends & walk around Fry's. Most people kill the last 30 minutes by taking a poop, I shop for dinner. I had talked to my mom & she reminded me about potato soup & I've never made it for Bec & Kiki. I'm walking around Fry's & realize that I'm singing along to their radio out loud... Not a huge deal except it was half way through Mmmm Bop. Needless to say I was a little embarrassed, until I noticed the people around me.
1. Guy wearing a log sleeved dress shirt & basketball shorts
2. Lady who was still in pajamas at 4:30 in the afternoon (with JBF hair)
3. Emo kid with bangs gelled covering half of his face & pants that leave nothing to the imagination.

I may be singing along to Hansen, but at least I'm good looking... I mean really really good looking. I'm making a big pot of soup tonight if anyone wants to stop by to see how good I look.

btw, there seems to be a shortage of Nutella in the QC Fry's. Apparently these rolls are sweeping the country, one Perkins at a time...

Just the boys...

There will be more to come! It's just taking me forever to put them all together.

Best day of my life...

A Good Weekend

This weekend was packed full of fun for the Alvarado Family. On Friday Merrek spent the night at our house. We had a blast! Andy helped the girls make their very own mini pizza. This in itself was the highlight of my weekend. I could have swore it was like Christmas when I got home from work and it was finally time to make the pizza. Merrek and Kaidence sat patiently as Andy made the dough finding it very hard not to eat the cheese and pepperoni while waiting. I am pretty sure they enjoyed making the pizza more than eating it. Although Merrek was very protective of hers when they were done. The second reason I found the pizza to be my favorite part of the weekend was Andy. He is such an amazing dad. He always has something fun planned for Kaidence. This was her 1st sleepover with someone other than Raven and Ronin. It was kind of a big deal for her. Andy made it such a good time for them. I being the boring person I am hadn't even thought about dinner. I would have ordered a pizza but I have to say his was sooooo much better. So 1/2 a point to Andy for being smarter and more creative than me! The rest of the night consisted of jumping on the bed that Andy moved into the living room and dress up.

Once again Andy stole the show the next morning. Andy, Merrek and Kaidence made princess waffles from scratch on Saturday morning. Why is it that food always taste better when you make it yourself? Anyways, the girls loved them! We spent some more time jumping on the bed only this time they did it while eating peeps. Yes I understand that this seems like a dangerous task but trust me they were supervised. Sprockett was watching them the whole time! j/k
After we took Merrek home we went to uncle Jesse's soccer game. Can I just take a moment to say what a wonderful uncle he is. Kaidence absolutely loves him and he is so good with her. My mom raised a good boy with that one! The game was great because Shannon and Raven came also. Andy watched the girls as they played on the playground which was really nice because it gave us girls a few minutes to sit and chat. It's hard living so far from my mom. I really miss spending time with her so as you can imagine I loved the hour we all spent together. It was just simple girl talk...you know gossip about the people in FH, how my little bro is becoming a man, the dorky things our kids have done. It was a lot of fun!

The day ended kind of crappy with us going to urgent care for Kiki. It turns out she has a UTI. Not fun at all but after a talk about how this wouldn't happen if she went pee pee in the potty and bribing her with going to see Shamu I think we might finally get this girl potty trained!! The dr was very interesting...Trying to help your 2 year old pee in a cup is always a blast! Overall she did really well and hopefully this will be our last trip to the dr for awhile!

That's pretty much it so far. Im sure Andy will have something fun and interesting to post soon.

BTW I would just like to point out that I made him do the first blog but after that it was all him. He loves doing these things so dont let him make you think otherwise!

I love my wiener!

Andy here...

I was going to blog about my wiener dog today, but never say the word dog. After re-thinking it, I guess that's only funny to me.

On Friday Becky's car broke down in Phoenix. Not a big problem except that NO WHERE carries the part to fix it (not even a dealership)... Deanna was nice enough to watch Kiki a little later so I could pick up Becky (and teach myself a few new cuss words while trying to fix it).

The weekend flew by! We went to a BBQ at our friend's new house on Saturday, Kiki had a blast because there was a giant bucket of candy & an endless supply of "Push-ups" ice cream. There was also a Wii. Now let me tell you, I am not the video game playing type but reminiscing with Eddie about Mike Tyson's Punch Out got me in the mood. Seriously, I'm so sore right now from playing Wii Tennis & Boxing. Guess what I'm asking Santa to bring for me on Christmas morning?!?!

Sunday was fun too... Kaidence & I have a weekly ritual of going to Home Depot together (It's our "Daddy-Daughter" time). She didn't really feel like taking her nap so I took her. She know's how to get there & everything (I let her tell me where to turn & where to park). We were walking around & she asked what we were looking for, I said some stuff for the Playhouse. She screamed "I'M GETTING A PLAYHOUSE!?!?!" & then turned to a guy walking down the aisle & told him! In case you can't tell, I'm not to good at keeping secrets. She knows that if she is good at Home Depot she gets a hot dog from the cart out front or ice cream.

Well, that was our weekend. We're still recovering from the havoc that our wedding took on our house. It's almost clean, I swear!

PS... I was sitting on the couch today holding my wiener & thought, "my wiener is dirty, I should wash him". Then we went outside & my wiener pee'd on the wall.

Pink eye and M&Ms

So after coming back from our honeymoon I spent some time at home with Kaidence. She woke up from a nap one day and her eye was all red and icky. My first thought was great she has pink eye. I called Andy and told him that we needed to take Kaidence to the Dr. He tried to convince me that it was her allergies and that he would bring home some medicine on his lunch break. Well by the time he got home for lunch my eye was starting to hurt and turn red. Needless to say I was right and he was wrong!!! Yes we keep score =) So we took the prescription to CVS where we had a 20 minute wait. Not a huge deal other than Kiki was pretty sure she needed everything in the store. After finally agreeing on a candy cane filled with M&Ms we left the store. Now normally I drive because my husband is a horrible driver but this night I was pretty tired and my eye was still hurting pretty bad, so with Andy behind the wheel we were off. After driving for a second I looked at Andy and ask if he knew where we were going. He said very confidently that he did even though I had already pointed out that we were heading west. Once again...I was right and he was wrong!! ( that's 2 in one night!) He tried to continue this stupid charade for a few more minutes already knowing that he was wrong since we were driving towards the city lights. BTW that part of the story has nothing to do with pink eye and m&ms I just like to point out the score! Finally we made it home. I am the biggest sucker when my daughter bats those big blue eyes at me. It took only a sad pout face and a reminder that she had pink eye to convince me that she should have string cheese and m&ms for dinner. After a few minutes of enjoying her well balanced meal I looked over only to discover that Kaidence no longer had pink eye...instead it was blue. And so ends another wonderful night in the Alvarado household.

This should teach her...

Andy here. Becky told me that I have to blog every other day & I'm not too keen on it.

Last night was fun, I played guitar for Ro & Kiki (how many uncles do you have that will play Akon & a punk version of ching chang walla walla bing bang in the same sitting?)

Since she's making me blog, I thought I'd try to change her mind on the subject...

My blog:
I love pringles, but I always debate eating them because they are so fatty. They have fat free one's now! I picked up a tube of em & started munching at about 8am this morning. I'm reading the ingredients & one of the primary ingredients is something called "olean". How come nobody told me about this stuff, huh?

So today, while I'm standing in my office debating whether or not to do some actual work I get the urge to fart. I'm alone in the office, so sweet. I let the honk loose and it's wrong. Something just sounded wrong. I know my own wind, & I have never farted a sound that sounded like a fart wrapped in a pillow.

Oh yes, something was very wrong. I had just pooped myself. But this evil olean makes pooping your self sound almost like a regular fart, & had I not been particularly attentive, this "grease bomb" could have easily have gone unnoticed.

Ok, that didn't happen. I just don't know what you're supposed to blog about & I was told that I had to do it today. Let's see if she makes me do this again ;o)

Martha Stewart

I have always been the black sheep of the family. Never settling down and always doing things a little out of order. Well I think I have finally got it right now! I have the most adorable daughter in the world and the sweetest husband I could ever ask for. While I didn't think that being married would change much in my life I have been pleasantly surprised. I have a whole new level of love for Andy and I feel as though I finally know why I have been placed on this earth.

Now on to the explanation of why the title is Martha Stewart. You see I have always had this internal joke with myself that my family is made up of a bunch of Martha Stewarts. Lets start with my sister Shannon. She inherited this title right after her daughter Raven was born. She went from a leather pants wearing, tanning daily, blowing up a kitchen trying to cook kind of girl to a real Suzie homemaker over night. I never quite understood how this was possible. She was all about making new curtains for her house and making sure that her children had the cutest bedrooms in town.
Moving on...We have Christine who gave me one of the best gifts of the wedding. A wonderful book for our guests to sign that had our engagement pictures on each page and sayings that brought tears to my eyes.
Aunt Sanza and my mom. These two are really something. While I was busy panicking because we had waited too long to order the flower girl dresses my mom and aunt spent their time laughing at me knowing they could accomplish everything I needed in only a few hours. The dresses were more than I could have ever wanted. They were beautiful and exactly what I had envisioned. (A big thanks goes out to them!)
Michelle, although due to busy schedules I rarely get to spend time with her I admire the woman/mother she has grown into. While opening cards from the wedding I came across one that was from her family. A cute green and black card that had a flower on it. Before opening this card I knew exactly who it was from. The amount of creativity that comes from this girl is unreal.
And finally Deanna. For the past few months she has been watching my daughter. I can not tell you what a blessing she has been. Kaidence absolutely adores her and her whole family. Sometimes I think she would rather live with Donny than with us! Being a stay at home mom has to be one of the hardest jobs ever! Taking on other peoples children earns her even more respect from me. But its not all of that that pays her admission into the Martha Stewart group. No its the fact that after doing all of this she still has time to write a blog each day that no matter what is going on in life makes me appreciate everything I have. Normally its a smile with a little chuckle to myself however today it made me go in and wake up my daughter only to give her a hug and make sure she knows that I love her more than words can explain.

So in closing this is my attempt at being a part of the Martha club. My first blog!!! I am yet to be able to decorate a house like my sister, make a dress like my mom and aunt, scrapbook like Christine and Michelle, or be as witty and blog like Deanna but I am giving it my best shot! So make room girls I just paid my admission!
